Verify the lens shade is correct |

Ordered two Shade #14 lenses (one per box) and one was correct, the other was not. Both were labeled on the box as shade #14 but one appears to be closer to #8? I've included (in order) #14, #?, and #5 for reference. I'll improve my rating if there are no problems with the replacement lens. UPDATE: I returned the mislabeled lens, then ordered three more. I only needed one but could use the extra two if they were correct. All three were shade 14 so I am now satisfied as it could have been an honest packaging error.

    Great Product |

Worked great for the eclipse highly recommend. I checked the lens before use with other shade 14 glasses I had and this one was the same. Product was also packaged very well for shipment.

Kindof feel like that is very misleading |

I purchased the goggles with extra lenses a a package. This "package" doe not make it clear that you only get ONE extra lens". Kindof feel like that is very misleading. The goggles need two lenses however. I would have been happy to pay the difference and I'm not certain why anyone would sell a product with half the necessary upgrade.

    Eclipse glasses |

Purchased for viewing a total solar eclipse, as i didn't trust those cardboard rip offs. Worked great with the arch welding goggles, and we had no eye strain after. (We only looked through them for up to a minute at a time.) Made the sun look dark green, but i highly recommend them for any future solar events.

I bought this last minute for watching the eclipse - after doing any necessary research. Looking through it was able to see the whole thing clearly. Was a great find and cheaper option than spending a fortune on glasses.

great for the solar eclipse |

These lens come from Philips safety products. They are made in Germany. They are perfect for viewing the solar eclipse. I call the Philips and verified that the stamp on the lens were really CE certified and yes they are. They come very simply packaged but don't let it concern you they are a good lens. Quick note the are sold as singles so please be aware.

Good for witnessing solar phenomenon . . . if it is shade 14. |

I bought this a long time back to view the transit of Venus. It worked extremely well! And by well I mean when you look through it everything is black, but the sun. Which make it a bit tricky to locate the sun while looking through it. I was able to hold it in front of a 70-200 lens and snap a few pictures too. The sun was tinted green from the shade of the glass (obviously), but that was easily fixed in photoshop. There was a person I let use it to view the astronomical event--they actually cried because they were so happy they got to witness it. A moment made possible by a cheap piece of glass. One major warning though, I am writing this review for Shade 14 glass. However, when I click the link for this item on my account's review page it takes me to a page for Shade 10 glass. Be aware that this may be a product change. If so, anything lower than shade 14 is not recommended to view the sun with and can be dangerous to your eyes.

Not only do they fit the goggles for which I bought them, but they were easily fitted to my binoculars and digital camera, and they work great. Can't wait to see the eclipse.

The lenses I received were labeled as 14 shade, and probably are, but when I put them in my goggles and looked at a blind covered window I could see a faint outline of light...

    Great for Solar viewing. |

Ordered for Solar Eclipse, made a filter for my telescope with it and was able to view and take pictures using it, no damage to my camera or eyes... as others have stated, DIN is not ISO, but I trust the Germans on their safety record.... if you are actually buying this to replace goggle glass, you need 2.
