Solidly Made, Not Good With Weak Water Pressure |
    Hershey, PAVerified Purchase

I had high hopes for this nozzle. We have horses, and I thought that this would be the ticket for spraying them off. Unfortunately, with our poor water pressure, it was a big disappointment. Very well made, appears heavy duty. I will take it on the road and hope that it performs better with decent pressure.

    GREAT HOSE NOZZLE |
    Verified Purchase

I have four of these nozzles and love them. You can use them one handed and don't have to get a limp wrist trying to keep the water on. The stream on these nozzles are terrific. It goes from soaker to heavy duty stream without any effort. I have tried cheaper hose nozzles and they either break or do not provide enough of a stream of water. These nozzles are fantastic.

Good "flood" setting, and does everythign better than the others I've tried |
    San DiegoVerified Purchase

I needed a nozzle with a ?soaker? or ?flood? setting that didn?t blast the dirt away, but still had a high flow rate. The flood setting on the cheap pistol type multi-function nozzles usually broke early, and either didn?t deliver much water, or blasted dirt. This nozzle can deliver a very high flow of water without the high pressure blast. The other settings also do their jobs much better than the cheaper multi-function nozzles I?ve used, delivering MORE of what I want from each setting (more distance, or more water, or more blasting power). This nozzle fixes the things that I found annoying about the three (cheaper) nozzles I?ve tried before (typical pistol type from big chain home improvement stores): 1) They break, especially if left in the sun. This is aluminum and rubber with no external plastic, and no high stress points to fail (lever handles, pivot points) 2) They drool on you and cause wet shoes, or wet clothes. This nozzle doesn?t drool, and even if it did, the design won?t let water run down the hose. 3) They use a flimsy mechanism to lock into the on position that usually breaks, and until then is tiny, and hard to use when wearing garden gloves. This nozzle is controlled simply by turning the front rubber piece, and is always ?locked?. 4) The old style brass jet nozzle that is controlled by turning takes a few turns to shut off, but this one goes through all of its different modes in less than one revolution, and it shuts off when turned either all the way left OR all the way right, so that you?re never more than half a rotation away from off. 5) I didn?t realize it until I got this nozzle, but the other nozzles restrict flow more than needed to provide a high pressure jet. This nozzle just delivers a lot more water, even when shooting far (but if you want less flow you can just turn it down). That makes my watering and washing chores go faster. This nozzle costs two or three times more than the ones I?ve used in the past, but it looks like it will probably last ten times longer, and it works much better.

    So Worth It |
    Verified Purchase

I have been purchasing nozzles over and over in the past. One day I don't know what caused me to look on Amazon and I found this Nozzle. The Nozzle is great - it has some what of a rubber casing so you don't have to be afraid to drop it on the ground. The only thing that I can say is I wish there was a way to tell if it was on or off without turning the water on.

    Great Hose Nozzle |
    Verified Purchase

This nozzle is worth every penny. I can't ever imagine going to another nozzle every again. The water rate the nozzle pours out is easily adjustable to fit your needs. I have a medium size garden and different kinds of plants that require a different water pressure when watering them. Before this nozzle I had a hard time adjusting to the right setting and also adjusting to the water rate for each plant. With this nozzle is just a simple twist and dam you are good to go. No need to fuzz or complain its that easy

Bone Aire Original Ultimate Aluminmum Hose Nozzle |
    Verified Purchase

So far I am happy with this nozzle. There is a nice variety of spray levels to use. The high pressure that was advertised is not THAT high, but it works well for what I need it for. I like that it is rubberized so that if you drop it it does not get damaged/broke. I would get another one for my backyard hose.

There is a plastic piece at the center of this nozzle, without which the item is useless. It broke off on the first day of use of the second season. Garbage.

Hands Down The BEST Nozzle |
    sunny CaliforniaVerified Purchase

Others have written about this nozzle and I'll just add my cheer to the crowd who love it. I was given one, then immediately bought six more so every hose at my house will have one. I can't any reason to take it off the hose as it does everything with a simple turn of the nozzle.

    Best one yet! |
    Verified Purchase

I've been using this for a few months and I just bought number 3 (for the 3rd hose we have). So much better quality compared to other hose nozzles I've had over the years. Typically they die a horrible death, the handle brakes, they leak, they usually suck. But this is a rugged design and does the job.
  13. 5 out of 5

    Wow |

It's like having a fire nozzle on your garden hose. Those other things just seem to break on a yearly basis. This doesn't look like it will.
  14. 4 out of 5

    works well |

So far this nozzle has held up pretty well. I have dropped it may times and I don't even see a mark on the hard rubber. I like that you can close the water by twisting it all the way in either direction. I give it four stars due to the actual water flow. The pressure seems to be ok when spraying far or when you are washing your car. If you are trying to water plants and flowers it is a little different. The low flow setting makes it to where water just kind of falls out of the nozzle which is a little to heavy for delicate flowers. You can put it on a mist setting but that doesn't water it enough. When putting it on the rain setting there is a little too much pressure. When I say "settings" I really mean just twisting it to get the water flow how you want it. There are no "click" setting like on other nozzles. Overall it works well and seems to be very durable I just wish you could fine tune the water spray a little better.

Very wimpie control, few selections, not worth it. I would not recommend this product, because of the water velocity at full- stream mode. Rather disappointed in this one!

    Love this nozzle |
    CaliforniaVerified Purchase

Very high quality and a pleasure to use. Turning the nozzle to adjust spray provides continuous options for shaping the stream. And the stream variations are the most useful I've had on any nozzle -- powerful single stream, wide gentle stream, stopping water flow with no drip page -- and everything in between. Other nozzles I've had deteriorate after about a year but this one still operates like new.

We bought this to replace another similar one that lasted 10 years. Looks to be just as rugged. We use it for washing our cars in the driveway; that's about it. But we drop it constantly and abuse the heck out of it. So far, it's holding up!

    LOSER |
    Verified Purchase

I think this nozzle is a loser. It is hard to adjust and there is nothing about the function of it that resembles a fire hoze. I bought one a couple of years ago that shoots the water a great distance and is easy to adjust as you water different plants. But you spend all your time adjusting on this one and even then you can't get it to do what you need it to do. Save your money.

It is hard to control the change in flow and sometimes hard to turn. Wish I could return it but, guess what, only can return before 2 months of use.

You need to have a lot of water pressure for them to work |

They are very good quality nozzles they just won't work if you don't have a Ton of water pressure you probably need a 5/8 water hose with high water volume

I've tried several nozzles over the past 3 years. While I've only been using this for a few weeks now it's head and shoulders above the previous purchases. It's solidly built, easy to operate (turn either direction) and shuts TIGHTLY. This really is a great nozzle.

Hmmm, no longer what they used to be... |

They changed something in the design or manufacture cause it's nothing like the great nozzle they used to make. Doesn't have the level of spray control or pressure that my old one had. Not worth the cost, have cheaper nozzles that have lasted much longer. Heck, my folks have 30 year old pistol grip nozzles that don't leak like this. Don't waste your money and certainly don't trust the warranty. Seems that amazon should hold manufacturers to account when they don't honor what they offer on the site

Chaulk it up to a "the small things in life" moment, but it's nice when your house nozzle just works. A family member has had one for years, and it takes abuse and keeps on ticking. It's solid, has great variety of spray types, and even looks good.

If you want the flexibility of spray pattern that a fire hose delivers, this nozzle is exactly right. I live in Boston and have great wate pressure so the performance is outstanding. A bit pricy, but definitely worth the money.

Nice sturdy hose nozzle. Full open it's like a mini powerwasher. It's heavier and larger than a normal spray nozzle. I don't recommend this for small hands or people with any ailments in the hand wrist area. It's seems very sturdy and well built. Works great for my car washing needs.

Tried a lot of different nozzles and think this is the best of the lot. Pressure is good. easy to use and operate even with one hand. The various flow types provide ease of water gently for small plants and broad and intense flow for things like my rims on my car. Ideal for both watering plants and washing your car or exterior of your home.

    Terrible Nozzle |
    Missouri, USAVerified Purchase

I received my nozzle today, and I must say that this is the worst nozzle I have ever purchased in my 59 years. It has no pressure at all, and I have 65# of pressure coming into my home, which is higher than average. The fog pattern is crap, and the solid stream is very poor. I would not recommend this nozzle to anyone, especially at this price. You can get better results from a $5.00 nozzle.

So disappointed! My $8 hose nozzle that this was to replace is better then this thing! I saw one that looked just like this at a home and garden show; it was $30 and I so regret not buying it now. It looked just like this one--but after appearances, there is no comparison. The one at the show was amazing--so powerful!! This one is it's feeble, wimpy half cousin. :-(

I was going back and forth on this purchase because this nozzle is a bit more pricey than the normal nozzle. Well constructed hose nozzle |
    WILLIAMSBURG, VA, USVerified Purchase

I do not believe you will find a better manufactured hose nozzle anywhere. The main concern is it is not a straight through nozzle. Every other nozzle I have ever had moved more water through it than this one. If you require a high pressure stream of water this is not the nozzle for you. It is a great nozzle for watering plants, washing vehicles, and filling containers but it is not good for blasting off lose dirt and grime. Had thought about returning it but decided to us a quick disconnect and have another nozzle for the blast effect if needed. I recommend this nozzle to anyone looking for a quality built nozzle with a cutoff in bother directions of rotation and not concerned with having a water blasting setting.

    Lasted only 1 year |
    Baton Rouge, LA - USA

I loved this nozzle. I bought it last summer. Went to use it yesterday after not using it during the winter, and it's shooting water from where the black rubber contacts the metal! In other words, it's blowing water back all over me. I guess I just say it was my favorite nozzle ever that I've had but only for 1 year. It'll go in the garbage. I'll just go to Home Depot or Harbor Freight and buy their cheapest one. At least if it only lasts a year, it's only $2 or $3. This is pretty expensive to have to replace every year. VERY DISAPPOINTED.... wouldn't recommend anyone buy it. On reading today, it seems that everyone has the same problem with the cheap quality and endurance of the product.

    Going Strong After Years |
    Orlando, FL USA

This will be the 773rd review for this product, so I'm guessing that this is not the first one you've read. It's safe to assume you already know enough about how it works. As such, I may not have a lot of information to add, except for the fact that I've had this nozzle for at least five years. I'm not sure exactly when I bought it, but it was definitely no later than 2009. I've used it consistently over that time, for washing the car, hosing off the patio by the pool, washing the dog, cleaning the pool filter, etc etc. It's heavy-duty enough to drop on the concrete, it just lands with a dull thud from that thick rubber ring around the end, and years of abuse haven't affected it in the slightest. The stream selection by rotating the outer ring is still as smooth as the day I bought it. Being able to turn it off at either end of the rotation is a nice feature too, less messing with it when you're done using it. I had intended to buy another one for the hose in the back of the house, but instead I've just been switching this one back and forth as necessary. If you're looking through these reviews because you're interested in buying one (why else would you be?), get one. It's worth the money.

I purchased our first 2 nozzles at a home and garden show and found them easier to use than the traditional sprayers with the squeeze handles.Cautionary note--take nozzles off the hose end and store inside during the winter months. If there is a little bit of water left in the center it will freeze, expand and crack the interior mechanism. They stand by their guarantee and replaced the nozzle. Also, if it begins to leak over time, they will also replace the "O" rings.

    Worst Garden Nozzle Ever |
    WashingtonVerified Purchase

Well I bought this nozzle for watering my garden because it's made of non toxic materials. I'm replacing my Dramm brass nozzles that work beautifully because of the lead warning (wash hands after use) on them. I use the Craftsman black rubber 5/8" hoses with nickel plated ends. Not sure if this is the nozzle's recommended diameter hose but it's a pretty standard garden hose diameter. I am so disappointed. I'd say this is the worst nozzle I've ever used. First, it does not hold any spray pattern, but switches without warning to a hard stream from mist, from the not really shower suddenly to a blast, and it turns itself back on when I've twisted it off. It's completely unpredictable. The quality of the engineering for the varying sprays is nowhere near the quality of the Dramm's. I want to be able to turn the nozzle to something like "shower" and also "mist". I get either more of a fat firehose stream that murders plants or a half pffffffft with great big dribbling on one side that washes out seedlings. I've tried various water pressures (turning the water all the way up or almost off, etc.) I would put up with its man hand sized twister [the shower head is 3" in diameter and the circumference of the twister is 6 1/2"] if I could achieve similar variations in sprays that I got with the Dramm. The only good thing I can say is that, obviously, it's made of the least toxic materials. And, giving it the benefit of the doubt, if you have city water pressure upwards of 80#, it might work for you for washing cars. If you have a lower household pressure (60# or less) don't bother for a garden, unless maybe the problem is the diameter of the rubber hose. I will use this only until I can replace it with some kind of fairly non toxic wand waterer, like the Nelson, no matter how cheaply made or how often I have to replace it, or whatever else I can find that is made of something other than brass. Please guys, just make a Dramm type nozzle out of the same good materials you used for this one.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of this - but it is great! I needed something that would be able to withstand my dogs - they chew everything. And sure enough, they chewed it a little before we even used it. But it works like a champ. The different setting are great and it is super easy to use and switch between them.

    I love it!! |
    Verified Purchase

I absolutely love this thing. Last year I bought a nozzle from target. It was orange with a trigger and had different "settings" to spray. I liked it a lot. But it leaked. Probably because I would just toss it. (Another reason I love THIS nozzle). Well that orange one started leaking too much after a year of owning it. Then I bought this green one at target because they didn't have the orange one. Absolutely. Rubbish. Hated that green one. Didn't even shut off. At all. Even when I pinched the hose it would somehow be steady spraying. And it barely had any pressure behind it. A week later I ordered this nozzle and I'm in love. Nice strong stream or soft when you need. AND you can toss onto the pavement and it just bounces. Doesn't leak and absolutely turns off all the way. Well sometimes it'll twist itself when you put it down but no big deal. I don't usually leave reviews but I went out of my way to leave one for this thing.

I don't understand why so many people love this thing. I'm using it ONLY to wash cars. And this thing is complete junk. I guess if I was going to water a garden, it would be okay. But for car washing, please stay away. it's a serious pain.

I bought this nozzle from Amazon almost two years ago, and now the nozzle leaks badly. I tried taking it apart and putting it back together, tightening up everything, but that didn't help. Two years is not exactly "a lifetime of use"... Since it only has a 1 year warranty, I guess I am out of luck. My advise is do not believe the hype that this nozzle is indestructible, cause it's not..

We've gone through so many brands of hose nozzles and they all break. We've had this one for almost a year, and it still works perfectly. Nice and heavy, it has rubber around it, so it doesn't get damaged when it's thrown on the concrete (when I toss the hose). Just ordered a second one for the front yard.

I don't really know what to say except this is the best nozzle I've had and I've gone through MANY! It's heavy in the hand but for some reason, it doesn't bother my "old" hands. I've had workers here who have actually abused them but they keep on working. Hence the reason I just bought three more to add to the two I have. I am giving 2 of the new ones as gifts to my gardening buddies so you must know that I really like them!

Being an avid gardener, I do use water. This is an excellent nozzle. I use it in the greenhouse and the garden, connected to the hose via a quick disconnect by Gilmour and a water supply regulator also by Gilmour. It is also extremely easy to clean using an Allen wrench. It should last a lifetime as there are no plastic parts to wear or break.

I have this sprayer on all of my hoses (and I have several). The nozzle allows me to have everything from a gentle watering to a fire hose blast. All you do is turn the nozzle to the type and force of spray that you want. Excellent quality and well worth the money. This sprayer is the only one you will ever need and you only but it once. Don't waste your money or time on cheap sprayers.

    Lawrenceburg, Kentucky USAVerified Purchase

I have been using these nozzles for years and my biggest complaint is that they were originally marketed as "the last nozzle you will ever need" and guaranteed not to leak. Well, the company dropped that approach because unfortunately, even when treated exactly as recommended, these nozzles do leak. The company has been very good about replacing my original nozzles, but I see they no longer make that claim which is apt business sense, I guess. Nonetheless, these are very good nozzles and worth the money. They are sturdy, reliable and last about as long as I would expect with regular use, about 3 or 4 years.

    Great control and flow |
    Verified Purchase

Got this for washing the car and it really lives up to all the good reviews on the site. The metal parts are sturdy and thoroughly armored by black rubber all around. The problem with most hardware store nozzles is that they always deliver a lower flow of water than just the uncapped hose itself. The Bon-Aire on it's lowest pressure setting mimics the high-flow/low-pressure delivery of an open hose and is great for getting 'sheeting' of the water to occur when rinsing the car after a wash which means less spotting. The spray is continuously adjustable up to a high-pressure stream (very strong) by rotating the collar and you don't have to hold the nozzle in place to maintain the setting -- unlike conventional spring-loaded nozzles. The only thing that takes getting used to is that you have to rotate the collar all the way left or right to shut off the flow, so you won't have the "instant off" action of a normal nozzle if you're working with a setting somewhere in the middle of the range. A perfectly fine trade-off for me given the other great features.

I've owned this nozzle for a year now under normal home use and was very satisfied with it until the large plastic (fiberglass?) valve fractured and came off inside the aluminum housing. After 3 months Bon-Aire housing blew the inner seal. Now junk! |
    Verified Purchase

Caution, not suited for hard water! Seems to work better using soft water... Maybe what one person said about the Bon-Aire being manufactured in China is true. Bought in April 2009 and the housing blew after a short time of use and really no way to get inside and fix it. The allen adjustment doesn't help. Now the water comes out 2 places and it's just a good soaker nozzle now. As it's a water waster maybe they will have a Cash For Clunkers nozzle program someday? Update 12/10/11 A lot of people read these so I'll further explain my opinion of the product. I agree, Amazon is great! The problem is with a product like this, Amazon has little recourse on the seller after the warranty expires. This nozzle works fine for the first few months in daily use and might last a year or more in light use. The problem is that the inner o-rings are not compatible with the water in some areas. If the water is questionable in your area (hard with minerals) I'd stick to a simple brass nozzle that's available on Amazon as well.

Hose nozzle worked well for 3 months. Purchased on Amazon 4/17 and it died last week of July. It was a good nozzle I suppose however, I didn't think the soft bubbler or soft shower spray was delicate as they advertise. Regardless I was pulling the hose to another area of the yard when I met resistance and nozzle pulled out of my hands and hit a cement patio wall. Barely a mark on the outer rubber but the complete inside broke apart. Barely anything on this is aluminum construction except for the nozzle end. "Virtually indestructible" they say about their nozzle. Yea right!! I'm adding a few photos so you can see the disaster. I contacted Bon Aire customer support on 7/31 and have yet to hear back 8/8. I guess it's time to buy a solid brass nozzle from a big box store. Such a disappointment. If customer support would have contacted me back maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed.
