    Perfect Solution--Great deal |

This was the perfect solution. I had shopped locally for a vented fan hood and the lowest price at any of the big box stores was $140. They were actually uglier than this one and noisier. I tried Amazon and found this great deal (at only $46). It is sleek looking, quiet and puts out a good light. I am very happy with it. It was easy to install. The one thing i would say is that this one has a rectangular duct adapter and i actually needed a round one. I was able to make some adjustments so that it works just fine, but this may not always be the case. Be sure and look carefully at the specs to be sure you are getting the right model for your installation. (I assume this is in the listing, but I missed it.) I highly recommend this fan hood. I believe it is everything the more expensive ones are cracked up to be.

Works great, Be Aware of its configuration |

This hood works great for me though I had to modify it. I purchased this as a replacement to a much older oven hood which had its power brought in through the left hand side. This hood did not have the option to bring the power in through the left. I got around this by using a drill to create a new hole in the proper location.

Great stove overhead for the price! great buy! |

Unit came shipped in heavy duty factory box. Basic White color, uses standard base 110V bulb, 2 speed exhaust fan, rectangular top vent with adapter. Took about 30 minutes to mount and refit duct. Only needed a few items like electrical twist nuts, and a grounded power cable. (used the old one from the dead overhead microwave that was replaced with this overhead range hood) Lost cost...great buy! shipped free! Tip: get yourself some metal duct tape to tidy up the installtion of the exhaust vent.

403001 range hood looks very nice, kind of noisy though |

We had one like this that lasted 13 years, but when we went to buy another one the stores no longer carry this brand here. I was glad to find it online. We are happy with it, other than it is noisy just like the first one. I had hoped they might have been able to reduce the noise level. We installed it ourselves so anyone can. We are in our 70's and it took 2 days. But we have arthritis so don't twist and turn so good, and our hands go numb working at small things. My husband drops each screw at least 4 times before letting me do it. If you are looking for a good economy hood this will satisfy you.

    Works great |

We installed this over a year ago and it gets used most days. There have been no problems whatsoever. The unit is an economy model but serves it's purpose just fine. It's fairly easy to clean with not too many intricate surfaces. Not any more noisy than other models we've used. It's a good product and worth the money.

Didn't expect much, got what I expected.. |

I had to replace a very old range hood (one that had the top vent about 2 inches off center), and I wasn't looking to replace it with the of the uber hoods, so this worked fine. I had to manhandle it into the spot (remember that 2 inches off center thing? Sucked), but it works fine. The fan is a little loud, and it's definitely cheaper made than my last one - plastic fan, only one poorly fitting screen, but it's there now, so I won't have to think about it again for a while (I hope).

Has the basics at a good price |

I like the 2 speed fan. I can still hear it on low so I know that I left it on, but it's not too loud. The box says 110 CFM on low, 190 CFM on high. The light provides plenty of light even with a low wattage bulb. I bought the white-on-white model, which is nice looking. It's just what I was looking for.

Fine for a temporary hood... |

I'm renovating next year, but needed something to replace the failed hood in my kitchen. This is economically priced and works fine. Motor is pretty small, and for many things you need to run it on "high" to clear the air, which is somewhat loud. If you cook a lot of greasy/smokey food, (which I really don't), you may want to look at something more powerful.

Great price - no frills |
    Verified Purchase

Great no-frills hood. Replaced a half working avocado green hood in my outdated kitchen from 1972, and it's really helped to spruce things up a bit. It provides a lot of light that illuminates the entire cooktop, which I think is a great feature. It allows for a bulb up to 75 watts but I only had to use a 40 watt bulb and I still think it's very bright. I deducted one star only because I had to order 2 hoods...the first arrived in a box that looked fine, but when I opened it, there was a huge dent in the front. Ironically, my replacement's box was very beat up, but the unit was fine, so...
