    Excellent Product |

I have used EasyCast for quite a while, and have tried other products. This is the one I always come back to. I do a LOT of resin work, and it just seems to do the best. It DOES warm up when it's being used, and that's normal. The more you use, the more heat it generates. That's the chemical reaction that hardens the resin once you mix the two components.

I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter |
    Verified Purchase

I used this on a recent art project to coat the painting in a thick shiny encasement. I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter. The result was gorgeous and exactly what I expected. PROS It dried crystal clear and hard as glass. It was self leveling and self degassing. I used a hair dryer as instructed to get out a few stubborn bubbles. It was low to medium odor, and as long as I kept a window open in the room I was working in I was fine. Suggestions: Mix the solutions in disposable plastic cups with a disposable stir stick because you probably will not want to reuse the mixing cups and sticks once they have dried, and it might dirty the next mixture. I can't wait to do more projects with this. Here are some image of the painting more at www.earthiwngdesign.com/portalsproject.html

Unmixed catalyst yellows with age |
    Verified Purchase

After about a year, my jug of catalyst turned yellow. I decided to try mixing it to see if it went away, but the casting also has a yellow tinge. It was stored in a cool, dark place -- not in sunlight or anything. Other than that, the product is decent.

    Hardner was extra yellow |
    Verified Purchase

Usually I'm pretty happy with the product. The last batch I ordered from Amazon Prime had a yellowish tinge. All my resin cast came out with that tinge of yellow instead of being crystal clear. Looked on the internet and it indicated the hardner can yellow with age. I used the product as soon as I received it and used it all within a month or 2 so not like I left it on the shelf a long time. I compared the hardner with the new batch I received and it is much darker yellow color than the new one. So be careful and check. Not sure if it was just my luck to get an old bottle. The price at the time was great - about $59- but got yellowed items. Otherwise I have been using the Easy Cast for a long time and have made alot of fun stuff. Used it to make jewelry, embbed electronic components for led projects, etc. Very low odor (as compared to polyester resin) and easy to mix.

    Clearly Superior |

This bulk buy is the least expensive way to get epoxy resin. It is less expensive per ounce, and also produces less waste. I would suggest you get smaller bottles with spouts (like the ketchup and mustard squirt bottles at restaurants) to make it easier to measure out into your container. I also bought disposable medicine measuring cups to measure accurately. The product is crystal clear, sets well, and also readily releases air bubbles that would otherwise be trapped in the finished product. Follow the instructions and you won't have any problems. Also, as a neat bonus I discovered that easyCast has a website that provides the full content of 3 nice crafting books that tell you how to use resin in different ways. * Easy * Inexpensive * Crystal Clear * Works great

    Love this product! |

This epoxy is really easy to work with, very low fumes/smell, and the casts come out beautifully. I highly recommend this product. It is one of more expensive brands, but well worth it. I use this epoxy in small batches, and a little really goes a long way, so this should last me a while! I like that it has little to no fumes Easy to use Works great!

This stuff is EPOXY resin and not polyester resin. Polyester dries much faster. The intructions state it cannot be cast in amounts greater than 6 ounces so it's more designed for jewelry. Instructions state 72 hours to cure hard. My polyester resin (fiberglass resin) cures in 2 hours so this is a REALLY LONG TIME. Next easy cast makes clear polyester resin also. The instructions state that only polyetheylene or polypropylene resin molds should be used (can without release agent) and even silicone or rubber needs to treated with mold release. Seriously? mold release on silicone? I've read that old product (shelfed for too long) does not get hard and set up which may be the problem with my gallon, but I poured a 5 ounce pour in a marini glass (which is a large amount and it is still gooey a day later. Maybe its just me or the batch is old, i dont' know but it's my belief that i should be able to get the product out a day later without any grief. My advise is get polyester resin instead of epoxy as it's cure time is shorter. No where did anyone state any of this in the reviews or description, so just consider it. One reviewer said his product never set up. I used a plastic small measuring cup and did EXACTLY equal parts so the measureing was exact and i used a chop stick to stir it up and waited 3-4 minutes before starting to pour it and it took about 10 minutes to pour it all, while they state it can set up in the container if not poured soon enough, i'm sure mine would not.

Love this product. It is super easy to use, it dries perfectly clear, it is virtually odor free. Free shipping makes it even better. If you use this regularly it is most certainly worth getting the bigger size, It is a giant money saver.

Product works great for small batches projects |

Product works great for small batches projects. Used for a bar table and had ok success. However never seemed to get that hard glass like finish. Steam leaves marks and dry glasses, plastic and other items seem to stick to it temporarily. I would highly recommend for craft casting and small craft projects.
