Good lightweight yet solid unit, holds the temperature steady at 46º |

Initial review; day one: four stars. If it gets down to temperature and maintains it I will update the review. I received the cooler today. It is the same model as the AKDY AZ-EA44EC-75 so if you want to save a few dollars you can purchase that model (here on Amazon) cheaper when it is on sale instead. I chose this one for its Amazon Prime eligibility. Either way it is the exact same cellar. Fit and finish: it is very lightweight but does not "feel cheap." The door hinges feel stable, the door is very lightweight but also feels stable, and the magnetic seals keeps the door closed tight. The chromed steel shelves slide completely out and may be rearranged to suit your specific needs. It is light enough that I can pick the unit up and move it myself. As with some other reviewers I purchased it more for food processing than for storing wine (although there will of course be a few bottles of wine, to be sure ;)); chilling cookie and pie crust dough, and also for black truffle mycelia cultivation, as I'm hoping to eventually inoculate oak and hazelnut seedlings and start a truffle orchard. Since it is a thermoelectric unit (it uses Peltier junctions as a solid state heat pump) there is no refrigerant there was no need to let it sit to prevent hydro-lock so I plugged it in immediately after unpacking. In the less than two hours I've had it, the temperature has dropped from 83ºF to 54ºF with four room-temp 2L bottles of cola placed in it when I plugged it in, which is pretty impressive for a wine cellar that has been in a hot FedEx truck all day. The temperature may be set anywhere from 64ºF down to 46ºF... for chilling dough I'll set it to the lowest temp the day before baking but when I start working with black truffle cultures I'm going to run it at the 50º-52º range. Temperature consistency will be important for black truffle cultures and so temperature consistency (as opposed to accuracy of the thermostat) will be the focus of my review update. Internal dimensions, in inches: 13.5w x 12.5d x 26.5h The light may be turned on and off, per the description. Damage in shipping: mine has some slight damage in the form of a dent on the upper fan cover on the back side. I will be contacting the seller to see if I can get that one replacement part (it makes NO sense for me to return the item for a part I can replace myself by removing and replacing a handful of screws to correct the cosmetic defect). If not, I will straighten it myself. This in no way reflects on the quality of the unit, but understaffing in shippers' hubs. First update: The unit is set to 46ºF and is located in an air conditioned room, at about 67ºF. I have placed a thermometer on the front-center of the top shelf for three days, left the unit unopened, and the temperature is holding at a steady 52.5ºF, after checking many times I am finding that temperature never varies. I will measure to the exact top-bottom middle and adjust the shelves so the thermometer is as close as possible to at front-center point and monitor it for a few days and post the results. Temperature uniformity: the unit could use more internal circulation. There are two vents located at the back of the unit, each containing one fan (one for each heatsink for each peltier junction). I think that a future redesign should incorporate a duct passing through both heat sinks with higher CFM internal fans in a push-pull configuration, drawing air from the bottom of the interior and venting it at the top. I have not examined the unit closely enough to determine where the thermostat is and whether it is practical to relocate it, however for my purposes (chilling dough, tuber melanosporum aka Black Périgord Truffle culture storage), etc. it is consistent enough for my purposes. 2015-08-19 Second update: It turns out that even though the unit does not use refrigerant so there is no compressor to sieze up if you plug it in immediately after receiving it, there is another reason: the peltier coolers will ice up. I noticed the pitch of the internal fans (which are usually completely unnoticeable) had changed and the volume increased so I removed one of the interior grills to discover the heat sink on the peltier junction had iced up and was blocking airflow. I unplugged it, let it defrost, then a few hours later plugged it back in. Since then, the top shelf held a steady 46ºF and the center shelf has been holding a steady 46ºF for about two weeks. So, if your wine cellar doesn't seem to maintain temperature peek through the interior grille or simply remove the grille and look at the heat sink (the big finned aluminum block) and you will see it covered with ice. Simply unplug the unit for 2-4 hours, the ice will melt and airflow will improve. Upgrading my review to five stars... will do one more update in a few weeks. Update 2016-03-30 The cooler is still holding up well and it remains at a steady 46º. I am very happy with it. I never did bother contacting the seller about the dented shroud - I got busy and forgot about it. It's easy enough to remove so I'll eventually take the shroud off and straighten it out. It does not affect functionality at all and I am the only one who knows it is dented.

    Very good value |

Note that the first time I bought the unit, I was shipped a Popcorn stand O.o After returning the stand I decided to try once more. Glad I did. The unit keeps wines at a pretty consistent temperature; ranges from 55-58 degrees over the course of a day when the apartment temperature goes up to 80-82 degrees. Unit is very quiet. I collect California wines, and was not expecting to fit a full 32 bottles, but I did. The Sea Smoke was challenging (I wouldn't bother trying a Turley), and some labels may have been slightly scuffed. California Cab and Pinot bottles are generally no problem at all.

We wanted a small wine fridge and spent a great deal of time researching options and finally settled on this fridge. It is quiet just as the name states and seems to do a good job of maintaining a steady temperature. There are two things that influenced a 4-star vs. 5-star review. The inside of the fridge smells and it is fairly strong each time I open. I can only guess there is some off-gassing from the material used to coat the inside, not sure. The second is that the fridge temperature will not really drop much lower than 54 degrees. We have used several different thermometers to test. This is not an issue for us as we are using to store red wine only. This is an excellent product, especially for the price!

Great value! Super small and much quieter than my previous 16 bottle model. Doesn't look like it would hold 32 bottles but it does. Internal Temperature has been rock solid for me. Would have of given 5 stars but for two things. 1) need to set the temp at 49 degrees to achieve 55 degrees 2) the slots are too small for larger, wider 750 ml burgundy bottles. Other than that, couldn't be happier!

... to make salumi in and so far I am pleased with it |

Got this fridge to convert it into a dry aging chamber to make salumi in and so far I am pleased with it. The actual temp inside varies from the display temp a bit (~55 degree actual vs 47 display) but I was able to get my fridge to an the ideal temp of 55 deg so this worked fine for me. Looks nice and the build quality is good so far. Would recommend.

    Quiet and looks great |

Runs perfectly but one problem. When I open the door too long (more than 30 seconds) the temps reset themselves so I have to adjust temp again. Is quiet. Love it. Lots of compliments. Would give 5 stars except the temp control issue.

    Overall a good purchase. |

Works well, cannot use large wine bottles only regular sized bottles. I replaced a trash compactor with it and it does not over heat being set back in the cabinets. Overall a good purchase.

At this price I'm very happy with it and i can have many different bottles |

I have used it for 3 weeks and is so far working very well. Dual zone is stable, maintaining the temperature set and it is very quiet. At this price I'm very happy with it and i can have many different bottles: champagne, Riesling, Pinot noir, Cabernet. I can have 2 bottles of champagne and a bottle of Riesling on the same row.

    Think Twice Before Buying |

Purchased this in December and it does not hold 21 bottles. It holds 18. Picture shows a total of 7 racks. I have 6 racks. There is constantly water on bottom of the cooler.

Fridge doesn't keep its temperature anymore (barely 1 year old) and seller refuses to replace it since they only offer a 1 year warranty. Do not buy.
