Good but did you know... |

Did you know that Soda Ash and Washing Soda are the same thing? I didn't and so I bought this for my dying projects. First, there is nothing wrong with the product its self. It works very well and it was delivered fairly quickly. However, the price isn't as good as I might like, especially since I know you can just go into any grocery and buy Washing Soda for a lot less and no shipping.

    Always the best! |

As an experienced artist I love using the strongest pigment I can get! Jacquard is just that, but you must first know that it is just not dye alone that does the job. You must use other products to aid the dye. This is that product!

    Bag Leaked |
    Verified Purchase

This is one of the most affordable places to order soda ash for fabric dyeing, since buying it from Home Depot or Lowes in the pool chemicals aisle is a lot more expensive. The product itself is good, exactly as advertised. I'm dinging it a couple of stars because the bag itself needs to be better quality. First, a resealable bag would be nice. Second, the bag in my package had a hole in it that caused soda ash to coat everything else that was shipped with my order. There was about a 1/4 cup of soda ash in the box itself and a small pile on my porch when it was delivered. I didn't weight it, but who knows how much leaked in transit. When I order 5lbs of a product, I expect to get all 5lbs. Jacquard, please put this in a better bag.

    Great Product, Consistent Fineness. |

Consistently fine powder, no clumping, highly soluble, and easy to wash out after dyeing, Jacquard's soda ash is always a winner. I highly recommend this particular soda ash for consistent, great results in hand-dyeing both fabric and raw fibres.

    MUST-HAVE! |

This is a must have product when dying fabrics. Its amazing how well the colors like to set themselves in. Also keeps dyed shirts from fading when washed. 10 washes and no fading...still going strong!

Works great for tie dying |
    Verified Purchase

Love this for tie dying. Having said that, you can find this for a much better price on other websites. Jacquard soda ash is, however- top of the line & definitely improves your tie dying experience. If you're a serious artist- I advise purchasing this item.... but doing it for a much better price through alternative websites.

    Worked like a charm! |

This worked great! It is a bit hard to pour our scoop out of the bag without spilling a bit, but most other brands of soda ash will come in the very same kind of bag. My dyes set wonderfully, and I am so happy about the quality of this soda ash.

    Bright Dyes! |
    Verified Purchase

A Mazing tie dyes were made because of this product! Way better and brighter than with the use of pool chemicals. Definitely worth the price. I made over 20 shirts and still have a ton of soda ash left. This was the best price I have found.

I used a cup of this in my home made laundry soap and it worked great! I can't wait to start doing my laundry at 1/4 of the cost of store bought laundry detergent.
