Work great but could use a little improvement |

In case you don't read the whole thing: I definitely recommend these. These wool daubers work great but require a little work to get started. I've successfully applied both Fiebings Leather Dye and Fiebings Acrylic Resolene with desired results but only after testing on some scrap leather first. The only problem with this product is that the wool has small fibers that stick off and out from the main ball. These end up pulling off as they are dragged across your surface. Once you're done you find a few. This it less of a problem with dye as you can just pull them off but they get stuck in the Resolene. I found that giving them a quick hit with a lighter took care of the strays. Don't go too crazy though. Once you have a clean dauber the dye/finish really does spread nice and even. The best part is being able to get these on amazon and delivered right to your door. Often I'll go somewhere like hobby lobby and if I'm lucky there's one bag; usually none. I have found though that if you're looking to be thrifty or need them right away, they do hold up fine to a wash or two. Don't get me wrong, I still recommend that you purchase the Leather Factory brand. Any wool daubers are going to have stray fibers but I think with just a little work these could be a perfect product.

    Good for leatherworking. |

I use these to apply leather dye and other treatments. I like that I keep my hands clean and they can reach down into the bottle quite well. Using a cloth can be a mess, but these daubers work well. They hold a lot of product. They will streak when you start running out of dye on the wool, but that is to be expected. I really like that they do not shed and get fibers in with the dye on my leather. I was concerned about that when I first tried them, but have had no problems at all. Good product.

Perfect for leather shoe coatings |

Bought silicone treatment for my leather boots to water proof them. They suggested wiping it on with clothes. These are better, they don't over absorb, and are easy to work with. Oh, and they're cheap. Hoping I get a few uses per, but at this price, I'm good.

Handy for application of finish |

Worked very well for application of dye and finish on several projects. I'm glad I got them even though they were pricy. Long life and excellent smooth finish. I'll get more when needed, especially if I can find some way to avoid shipping costs.

    I like these a lot |

I like these a lot. They spread the dye really well. I am glad I read the reviews where people mentioned washing them beforehand to get lint and extra hairs off. I didn't wash mine, but I made sure there were no loose hairs and it was wonderful and easy.

    A must for leatherwork. |

Very handy for applying finishes. Does not leave lint behind. I try to reuse mine as much as possible by rinsing immediately after use. Resolene seems to pretty much clog them up after one or two uses.

Gun Cleaning Dream Come True |

What the doctor ordered for cleaning shotguns and magazine wells of rifles. They're stout and can be reused to apply lubrication to large areas. They do not frazzle and come apart under usage.

    Great! |

Great for so many things! Inks work well, acrylic paint (dip the daubers in fabric softener first to keep them easy to clean), dye, and on all kinds of surfaces. I love that they are durable and washable - those throw away ones suck.

    Experienced some shedding |

Bought these to use with a leather acrylic sealant. I briefly soak them in water, squeeze out the excess, and then use the damp dauber to apply the acrylic straight onto my leather shoes. Not sure if I am using them wrong, but these daubers shed little strands of wool, which makes them pesky to work with because they get stuck on the acrylic finish and I have to pick them off. Quality otherwise seems ok.

How very nice to be able to order this on Amazon instead of hunting around craft stores or going to a shoe repair place! the delivery was very quick, and even with the shipping price, this is a great price. Use this with Tandy oil dye and you will have a great result!
