Gets the job done with gusto |

I have put this brayer through the wringer doing direct transfers (acrylic on canvas) these past few months. I was skeptical at first and honestly thought it would have broken by now, but it is in great shape and one of my favourite tools. The plastic is sturdy, and it rolls smoothly. The quality of my transfers has definitely improved since purchasing this and I would recommend it to anyone.

    Great woodworking tool |

I saw the other reviewer here say he was using this roller to spread glue for woodworking projects so I purchased one for the same reason. The best I've ever used, rolls on a pefect amout of glue evenly, reduces squeeze out, clean up during and after glue ups and saves glue. Great size not too big for smaller projects not too small for larger ones. Cleans up with warm water and its like new.

    Works Well, Smells Weird! |
    Verified Purchase

This Speedball 4-Inch Pop-In Brayer, Soft Rubber does its job well, and is the perfect size for using with my mixed media paintings. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the smell! I've had it for two days now and ... I don't think I could describe the smell if I tried. Very strange, and yuck! It has lessened a bit, and I expect it to go away eventually. It is a good product outside of the stank. I'll try to remember to update this review in a few weeks or so.

    Glue roller |

Instead of using this for ink, I use it to spread glue when I'm building end-grain cutting boards. It's not perfect for the task, but it works, and cleans up and holds up better than anything else I've tried to use to do this.

    Good sturdy product |

I use a brayer in my art classes but also for crafts and art projects for my grandchildren...this brayer is easy to handle and the clooer is of a sturdy rubber product. The brayer is also an easy cleanup. It is a small size which fits my needs perfectly. Speedball is a good brand, you can't go wrong if you purchase this.

Must have tool to use the giant stamps for handmade cards |
    Verified Purchase

This is my first brayer tool. I had to have one to properly ink my large intricate stamps. What a difference this has made. The stamps I have that just don't ink perfectly, that don't get all-over inking when I stamp them directly on the pad, the brayer solves that problem. I have an inexpensive uneven white stamp pad that I haven't been able to use because it messes up the stamps every time. When I loaded the brayer with white ink and applied it to my stamp with the brayer, it came out perfect each time. I clean the brayer with baby wipes. Very easy. All the reviews pointed to this brayer brand and they were right. This is the one. Happy Stamping

    Great for spreading glue! |

This was suggested by Marc Spagnuolo(thewoodwhisperer.com) as a great tool for woodworkers to spread glue on joints with. That's exactly what I use it for and it's great. Tip: When done gluing, place this in a bucket of water so the glue doesn't dry on it. Cleans up nicely!

    Perfect! |

I bought this brayer to use with gesso for a mixed media project I was working on. It's a tough little tool! Thick rubber, easy to remove roller for easy cleaning, and a great price!

Best in its class as far as I can tell. Could not find in any local stores. |

Love these, especially the fact that you can pop out the roller. Probably the pop-out feature is for cleaning, and that does help, but I like to pop out the roller and wrap twine or rubber bands around it to roll in ink/paint and make interesting linear features in artwork. Works great so I bought a second one because I got the first one kinda icky after neglecting to clean it properly. Still works for some things (like if I want an irregular surface). So now I have one for smooth surfaces, too, which, I'm sure, is the original intent.

I am upset when I miss place this brayer. It is used for many different purposes. From adhering paper to mats for cutting, inking projects and more........
