    Toddler art finally wrangled |

When your pre-schooler seems as prolific as Picasso, and you just can't find a single other place to hang a single other masterpiece this helps to store it all away. Much cheaper and more practical than the "kid's art portfolios".

    arrived damaged |

as soon as i saw the package, i was leery that this item would be damaged. i was right....something went clear through the flimsy cardboard it was packed bubble wrap, nothing to protect this paper item! there was a hole in the top flap, through both layers of the portfolio. it is by no means 'red'....more like an faded industrial brick. i do like the woven handles. the size is perfect for me. it does accordion @ the bottom to expand & hold more sheets, however, someone in another preview said one drawing pad inside & the handle broke. pros: nice size, good handles, uncomplicated to open & close, expandable bottom. cons: not packaged very well, arrived damaged. it is not an attractive color. the only thing holding the flap down are the handles...could use a velcro tab or two. not meant for the long haul or the true professional. it works for me as i am not hauling around anything other than rice paper paintings in it. actually...will not be hauling it around much at all...will sit in a corner protecting my paintings until i die & get discovered post-posthumously.

    poorly made |

This portfolio waas made with the rough side of the handle rivets on the inside, practically assuring the scratching of one (or both) sides of anything thats put in.

This portfolio came apart the first time we used it. We are so disappointed with this product and would never purchase it again.

    Inexpensive But Functional |
    Verified Purchase

Bought this for storing/carrying/protecting photographs. I use 13 x 19 inch photo paper for my larger photos and this item was perfect at 14 x 20 inches. The portfolio expands about one to 1-1/2 inches easily, and could expand more if really necessary. The material looks like a thick fiber paper that should hold up to moderate abuse. The handles are cloth with some additional fiber woven into them; certainly strong enough for the small loads this portfolio will carry. I added a 1/8-inch thick foam board stiffener to provide some additional protection against bending. Only complaint: the cover flap does not fasten. I added a single velcro "dot" in the middle to make sure it doesn't inadvertently open. For the price this item should have had something like that already.

Serves my purpose at the right price |

If this had to travel, it would be useless. However, that was not my intended use. It is big enough to hold unmounted family portraits and diplomas, stored flat in acid-free paperboard. For that it is perfect, and in a size not easy to transport from the business, so Amazon gets a plus for its unmatched home-delivery.

    made with paper |

This is a paper product. Description does not say anything about it. One bad snag will tear it and it's your money down the drain.

a very light weight portfolio |
    Verified Purchase

This portfolio has nice handles but no way to close it securely. I was not happy with how light weight the cardboard is that it is made of, but I needed a new one to store some things. I ended up taking the rubber cable closer off the old portfolio to use to keep this one closed. Next time, I'll look for a different brand!

Not as good as it gets! |

I bought two of these portfolio cases one in 14"x20 " and one in 23"x31". The items were packaged extremely well for shipping in a large cardboard box with paper padding. However the larger portfolio arrived with a tear on the top left corner where the fold for the lip is. I only bought these portfolio's after reading mostly positive reviews nonetheless I can't say these portfolio's suit my objectives, one of which was to store my medical x-rays in. However x-ray film is substantially heavier than say a sheet or sheets of paper. Thus, I will have to reinforce these portfolio's with silver duct tape as they are quite flimsy for storage of anything other than sheets of normal weighted paper and the description of them being constructed of heavy duty red fiber is a rather ambiguous and misleading representation as they feel more like thick paper. And I will agree with another reviewer who described the paper weight to be close to a manila folder. To be honest I wasn't expecting much for the price but was nontheless expecting the "red fiber" to be a bit more heavy duty. As a photographer I also don't think these portfolio's are sturdy enough to hold photo's (a heavy print stock) and if you are looking for protection and don't want your medium of work to get bent these are not the type of portfolios you would want. However, as another reviewer stated, inserting a piece of cardboard inside the portfolio would help to ensure works are not bent. All in all, I am extremely disappointed in regards to this product and to whats available in the marketplace. I've owned various types of portfolios for over 25 years and NOW can not find the type of portfolio I once owned. I previously owned a large portfolio that was quite simply two pieces of heavy duty board that tied on the sides and the top and would open all the way like a giant clam, and was non-expandable thus it would for example press on the drawings and or paper to ensure it stayed opposed to tube storage wherein the paper curls. But it was hard and fully protected drawings and so forth. I have however googled and searched endlessly and can't find anything like the previous portfolio I owned to which I used happily for over a decade and only disposed of when it showed signs of mildew and or mold. Sorry, it seems I have digressed, but should anyone know what I'm talking please let me know where I can buy one:-). In any event please consider these portfolios would be great provided they suit the intended application and or are used appropriately, that is for lightweight papers!

    Gets the job done |

Not at all rigid, but it gets the job done. I recommend inserting a large piece of sturdy cardboard in with your papers or drawings to protect them from bending.
